Commecs Education Trust, a “not-for-profit” organization, set up in 1989 by the COMMECS The Alumni Association of Govt. College of Commerce and Econimics, to repay a debt to society, was concerned at the dearth of good educational institutionals at the tertiary level. CET,s main objectives was to bring a quantum change in the quality of education in the country, and develop human resources and skills by establishing centres of learning, alongwith the development of a sense of love and loyalty to the nation. CET”s vision is:

COMMECS Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) was established in 1993 for imparting quality education at the tertiary level. As a first step, it started with an intermediate commerce programme and from the first year onwards achieved outstanding results in intermediate exams. Out of its twelve year of existence, it achieved 03 to 09 positions out of the top 10, every year in BIE’s inter-commerce examinations, beside achieving the highest number of A-1’s and A’s from amongst competitor institutions. Its students, by dint of merit, get admissions to the best professional institute of the city. COMMECS Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences was the only institution in the city, affiliated with IBA (Institute of Business Administration), for the BBA (morning) Programme. Within a short span of eight years of the BBA programme, CIBES is considered a reputable name in both academic and corporate sectors.
Situated in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, the campus of the institute is purpose built, having (03) stories and covering the area of 53,396 sq. well furnished classrooms, computer labs and a library with audio-visual facilities are add to the CIBEAN ethos. An auditorium, a prayer hall, a conference room, a spacious cafeteria, a common room for girls and indoor as well as outdoor sports facilities are a vital component of the CIBEAN culture, which promotes co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The institute has won laurels at inter-city and national competitions.
Realizing the increasing complexities of the world of business and emerging sciences, CIBES was the first institute to introduced IT education and mathematics in its intermediate programme. This proved to be a trend setter, as the board of intermediate later introduced the subjects in the intermediate curriculum formally. Most of the institution’s admissions, examinations, assessments, administrative and finance programmes are professionally IT based. Software used within the institution is licensed.
Following CIBES ideas of bringing in a quantum change in the quality of education and developing human resources and skills by providing intensive learning, CIBES frame a policy to do so, irrespective of any student’s financial constraints. CIBES Provides financial assistance to deserving but meritorious students in the form of fee endowments, scholarships and soft-loans. The policy of ENDOMENTS, with merit being the only criterion, allow any one to join. As per policy 15% of the fee revenue can be utilized towards providing this facility at the intermediate level, while 10% of the fee revenue can be utilized for endowment at the BBA level. Approximately 20-25% of CIBES students, on an average avails this facility of discounted fees. SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded to students.
